The Canadian Grocer Impact Awards honour retailers, suppliers, and solution providers who are making a meaningful difference in areas like environmental sustainability, employee well-being, and community support. This year, Bimbo Canada was recognized for our bold steps in decarbonizing our business—not just through ambitious targets, but through tangible, impactful results.
Since launching our 10-year sustainability strategy in 2021, we have achieved:
- 21% reduction in direct (Scope 1) emissions since 2019
- Zero Scope 2 emissions thanks to our renewable electricity project investments
- Operation of 8 Energy Star-Certified industrial facilities, which is more than any other company in Canada
- Completion of the Energy Star Challenge at two facilities (Calgary and Moncton), reducing plant energy intensity by 10% in under five years
