Vachon Unveils New Brand Identity and Packaging

Vachon Unveils New Brand Identity and Packaging

This Marks the Brand’s First Major Visual Update in Nearly 15 Years

MONTRÉAL, QC (May 20, 2026) — Vachon, one of Canada’s most iconic snack cake brands, unveiled a refreshed brand identity and new packaging across its portfolio. This marks Vachon’s first major visual update in nearly 15 years and reflects a strategic evolution grounded in deep consumer insight, with a clear focus on appetite appeal, indulgence, and improved in-store visibility.

The refresh is grounded in recent consumer insights, which highlighted opportunities to strengthen portfolio consistency, improve in‑store visibility, and bring appetite appeal forward in a highly competitive snack aisle. As packaging remains Vachon’s most powerful in-store medium, this redesign serves as a critical lever to improve visibility, simplify navigation, and drive impulse at shelf.

At the heart of the new identity is a return to what consumers love most: Vachon’s snack cakes. The refreshed design re-centers the brand on its true icons —bringing indulgence and craveability to the forefront while preserving the strong emotional connection Canadians have built with the brand over generations.

Through qualitative consumer research, participants responded positively to the refreshed packaging, describing it as modern while remaining instantly recognizable. More expressive product visuals, lively typography, and distinctive background colours were seen as enhancing appetite appeal and reinforcing brand recognition.

“This evolution is more than a new look. It is about strengthening Vachon’s relevance for the future,” said Marie-Pier Faucher, Brand Manager, Vachon. “We set out to modernize the brand in a way that feels both intentional and respectful of our roots. The new identity allows us to connect more meaningfully with younger consumers, while continuing to resonate with the loyal fans who have grown up with Vachon.”

The refreshed packaging supports Vachon’s long-term brand strategy by reinforcing the powerful emotional connection Canadians have with the brand while expressing it through a more cohesive and contemporary visual language.

To bring this vision to life, Vachon partnered with Montreal-based design agency BrandBourg, keeping the project rooted in Canadian expertise and creativity. The collaboration focused on balancing modernity with authenticity, ensuring the refreshed identity reflects both evolving consumer expectations and the brand’s deep heritage.

“Evolving a brand as iconic as Vachon requires a careful balance,” said Talia Duchnay, VP Brand Strategy & Design at Brandbourg. “The new identity modernizes how the brand shows up today while staying true to the cues Canadians instantly recognize and trust.”

The refreshed brand identity and packaging are now rolling out across Vachon products in stores nationwide.
